Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.

"Success is the maximum utilization of the ability that you have." - Zig Ziglar The Almighty has endowed each of us with ability He expects us to use. Now succeed by using that ability to honor Him and by ministering to those in need. 1Peter 4:10(NKJV) As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.**** Father, help us to succeed by using what You have given, by Your grace to do Your will. |

In our pursuit of humility: (Lessons from humility and sin.) "Being occupied with self, even having the deepest self-abhorrence, can never free us from self. It is the revelation of God, not only by the law condemning sin but also by His grace delivering from it that will make us humble." Andrew Murray **** The enemy of our souls is the prince of the power of the air. He communicates thoughts to our mind that might pre occupy us with our sin, both past and present. We need to listen to the Spirit of grace that occupies our heart - trust His forgiveness, His love, His willingness to daily deliver us from our sin nature. The sin nature of pride, vanity, and self-seeking diverts our attention from true humility; humility keeps our focus on The Creator as our all in all. Acts 13:38(KJV) Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: 39 and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.**** Father, the grace You offer can truly make and keep us humble - Thank You, in Yeshua’s name. |
Understanding the precepts of prayer. The Shunammite Woman’s Dead Son We often have pre-conceived ideas about how one should conduct themselves while praying. In this incident Elisha seeks to restore the life of a dead lad. He diligently prays and acts in what might be considered an unconventional manner. Consider how Elisha, a man of Elohim (God), responded to this crisis; there goes the standard formula idea. 2Kgs 4:32 When Elisha came into the house, behold the lad was dead and laid on his bed.2Kgs 4:33 So he entered and shut the door behind them both, and prayed to the LORD. 34 And he went up and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth and his eyes on his eyes and his hands on his hands, and he stretched himself on him; and the flesh of the child became warm.2Kgs 4:35 Then he returned and walked in the house once back and forth, and went up and stretched himself on him; and the lad sneezed seven times and the lad opened his eyes. 36 And he called Gehazi and said, "Call this Shunammite." So he called her. And when she came in to him, he said, "Take up your son."What an awesome miracle - are you excited by this resurrection? - God hears earnest prayers of faith - Glory to His name, YHVH. Jas 5:16 …The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.**** Father, grant us the faith of Yeshua to rightly pray as Elisha did - for one or for all - Amen. |
How does God feel about issues we face today? Fruit of the Spirit Gal 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, self-control: against such there is no law. When you are being taught patience you are put into situations where the opportunity to use patience is given. When you are being taught goodness you are placed in difficulty where you have to choose to treat an evil person with good, regardless of what has been done to you. All of these character strengths are grown through trials - they are not given for free. Strength is earned - built up through exercise. No man is born looking like an athlete, he has to practice, put his body through trials to improve himself. That principle applies physically and spiritually. **** Material in this section is based on various prayer diaries. |
Honor By Chris Muller, May 23, 2012 Honor is a hard term to describe. It doesn’t have a color or weight or shape. If someone were to ask me what honor looked like, I’d probably struggle with what to say. But something happened on May 23, 2012 at 9:31 a.m. at Gate 38 of Reagan National Airport that might change that. A flash mob of sorts broke out. But not like you’ve seen on YouTube with highly choreographed dance numbers or people singing a song in unison. In fact, virtually all of the participants of this "flash mob" didn’t know they would be participating until moments before it happened. Let me explain. Shortly before 9:30 over the loud speakers, a US Airways gate attendant announced that an Honor Flight of World War II veterans would be arriving momentarily and encouraged anyone passing by to help greet them. Five or six people looked like they were officially part of the welcoming committee, and the rest of the people in the secure section of the airport were regular old travelers going somewhere. Then I had a terrible thought. What if these veterans came off the plane and just those five or six individuals were there to greet them. I walked a gate over to help see the veterans out. But - then it happened and frankly, I wasn’t expecting it. All throughout the terminal, people left their gates and gathered around gate 38. A few active military personnel in plain clothes approached the gate attendant and politely asked if they could join in the salute within the jet way as the hero’s first stepped off the plane. Every human being in the terminal stood at attention and faced the door. Someone held up an old newspaper from 1945 that had a banner headline that said, "Nazis Quit!" And when I saw that newspaper, I realized that World War II wasn’t just a chapter in a history book. It was men and women who saw an evil like the world has never seen before and traveled across the world to meet that evil. And they defeated it. I wonder if in 1945, any of those brave soldiers could ever imagine that 67 years later, we’d still be basking in the freedom that they preserved. And some of those hero’s were about to walk through Gate 38. The first soldier walked through the door. Old, frail and needing help walking. And every person I could see in the entire airport stood and applauded. No - maybe cheered is more like it. But here’s the thing - the applause didn’t stop. For a full 20 minutes, as veteran by veteran stepped out of the jet way, the US Airways wing of Reagan National Airport thundered in appreciation. Travelers stepped out for the opportunity to shake their hand while others held back tears. This is the America we picture in our heads. Heroes getting a hero’s welcome and those who enjoy the freedom adequately conveying their gratitude. Now, I know what honor looks like.

95 Theses to the Modern Evangelical Church by Greg Gordon - (founder of SermonIndex.net) 59. Decisionism and the "sinner’s prayer" has been a major cause of false conversions in the "church". (2Pt 2:1-2; Eph 2:4-5; 2Cor 5:17-18) 60. Many will be surprised to hear Jesus say, "I never knew you, depart from me." (Mt 7:22-23; 1Cor 6:9-10; Gal 5:19-21) 61. Men have taken the place of the Holy Spirit in confirming men in their supposed salvation. (1Jn 2:3-5; 2Ths 1:8; Gal 6:12-15) |
Scribbles (By Michael Boldea Jr.) "This [world’s] pace of alarming, disturbing, calamitous, and catastrophic ‘alerts’ is unsustainable, because we will all be shell shocked by the time the real trouble comes. God forewarned, not that you might fear, but rather that you might prepare, that you might have peace, be still, and know that He is forever and always, Alpha and Omega." Ps 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God…Amen |
Never lose a chance at saying a kind word People who live beyond their means must be given a lot of credit Better to trust the person who is frequently in error than to one who is never in doubt Inspiration seldom helps anyone get anyplace unless a good dash of perspiration is tossed in It isn’t necessary to put out the other person’s light to make yours shine more brightly Greet the dawn with enthusiasm and you may expect satisfaction at sunset Keep company with good people, and good people you’ll imitate |
Living Right Doesn't Come Naturally* Because the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and to give up your enemies before you, therefore your camp must be holy, so that he may not see anything indecent among you and turn away from you. (Deuteronomy 23:14; ESV)The Torah's directive to store human waste away from the community was a necessary lesson to be learned to ensure health. The verse we read suggests that there was more than just physical health at stake. Like so many of God's directives it has a spiritual foundation and a physical benefit. Tolerating indecency in the community first and foremost threatens the people's relationship with God, which in turn negatively affects our health. It might be difficult for us to imagine how a society can neglect so foundational and simple a concept as keeping drinking and waste water separate, but we forget how for centuries in Europe people unnecessarily died due to ignorance about simple hygiene. Our natural inclination is to do our own thing in our own way to our peril. Without careful adherence to God's revelation as laid out in the Scriptures, we naturally find ourselves on the road to destruction. It doesn't matter if we claim to love God or not. No matter how spiritual you think you are, drinking waste water may very well kill you. No matter how much you say you love God, ignoring his directives will destroy you. This applies to moral issues as much as it does hygiene. We may not be drinking waste water, but might we be neglecting other of God's directives? Having faith or being good hearted or sincere doesn't automatically separate waste water from drinking water. The only way to live the kind of good and blessed lives God desires for us is by our paying close attention to his instructions and applying them accordingly. Psalm 32:5 Psalm 32:5 I acknowledged my sin to Thee, And my iniquity I did not hide; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD"; And Thou didst forgive the guilt of my sin. Selah. Now here is a promise that gives peace of mind, hope, and courage. We have our part to do " I acknowledge my sin to Thee…". Do not become pre-occupied with transgressions as it will drag you down; do as it says, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD…", for if you trust Him He will forgive your sin and the guilt thereof. Take the first step to restore the fellowship we so desperately need; enjoy the peace, the reconciliation Yeshua holds out to us.**** Blessed be YHVH (Genesis 14:20 And blessed be God Most High…) |

Integrity You may excel in righteousness in one area of your life by sheer determination, but have weaknesses in others. Yet God’s word teaches you to be pure and holy in every area of your life. This is the meaning of integrity, referring to the soundness of anything that requires every part to work properly for the whole system to work. One faulty part can cause a car to break down or an airplane to crash. So one area of failure can ruin a life as well. Does this discourage you because it seems like an impossible standard to meet? Let not your heart be troubled. Continue to trust in Messiah and He will complete the good work He has begun in you.
