How does God feel about issues we face today? Love One Another Yeshua (Jesus) told his followers that the world would know that they were his disciples by the love they had for one another. Does this imply that it is less important to love those outside the faith? This relates to another encounter He had about love in which the question came up: ‘Who is my neighbor?’ Yeshua told a story about a man who was attacked. Who came to his aid? You know this as the story of the Good Samaritan. The doctrinal differences and separation of the Jews and Samaritans were central to this story. He answered the question of who is my neighbor in the widest possible sense. So also the answer to loving one another to show that you are Yeshua’s disciple should be answered in the widest possible sense. (Adopted from a blog post by Dale Cresap) By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. (John 13:35)Material in this section is based on various prayer diaries. |

Last time we wrote about honor, we can dishonor YHVH by having another god before Him. Could something else be first place in our life that is above God? Matt 19:16 And behold, one came to Him and said, "Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life?"Matt 19:17 And He said to him, "Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments."Matt 19:18 He said to Him, "Which ones?" And Jesus said, "You shall not commit murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not bear false witness; 19 Honor your father and mother; and You shall love your neighbor as yourself." 20 The young man said to Him, "All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?"Matt 19:21 Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."Matt 19:22 But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieved; for he was one who owned much property. 23 And Jesus said to His disciples, "Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."Matt 19:25 And when the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, "Then who can be saved?" 26 And looking upon them Jesus said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."(Note, eternal life is synonymous with entering the Kingdom of God.) |
No Problems? When you came to Yeshua (Jesus) did you expect to have a life without problems? What did you find instead? That you had problems similar to those around you and to the ones you had before you met Messiah? In addition you find that if you follow Him you are more concerned to avoid sin, and no longer have the love and acceptance of the world. Don’t be discouraged, but recalibrate your expectations to realize that a life without problems is not possible or desirable. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but He delivers them out of them all. In the world you shall have tribulation but cheer up, for Yeshua has overcome the world. (Adopted from a blog post by Dale Cresap) Rom 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.Matt 5:10 "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me. 12 Rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Therefore Rom 8:28 …we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. |
Ps 119:47-48 And I shall delight in Thy commandments, Which I love. And I shall lift up my hands to Thy commandments, Which I love; And I will meditate on Thy statutes. When we love God the Father and Yeshua, His Son, we will keep His commandments (John 14:15). Therefore the promise is Eternal Life (Luke 10:25-28). Meditate on these things. Ps 118:21 I shall give thanks to Thee, for Thou hast answered me; And Thou hast become my salvation. 22 The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief corner stone. 23 This is the LORD's doing; It is marvelous in our eyes. 24 This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.**** Blessed be YHVH (Genesis 14:20 And blessed be God Most High…) |
What's In A Name? In ancient times, names weren't chosen just because they "sounded nice." Most biblical names had specific meanings in their original languages (Hebrew and Greek). Below are the meanings of the names of several bad guys of the Bible, and to make your guessing a little easier, we've supplied the book (or books) of the Bible where you can find that character. Keep in mind, as elsewhere in this book, that the bad guys weren't bad all the time, so in this list you'll find some names of folks who were, on the whole, good people, but on some notable occasions wandered off the moral path.
