Looking Beyond Series*

"Wait"

Looking beyond our present circumstances is to trust (have faith in) YHVH to do what He has planned from the beginning. Making us in His image and likeness is our starting point. We failed, we fell short of His call to abide in His presence - In the Garden of Eden. We now await the Savior, the one to restore our entrance (return) into that Garden. To reign and rule over the earth as originally intended - under the ruler ship of the King of kings and Lord of lords - are we ready?

Lesson from the golden calf

The Israelites, redeemed from slavery and bondage, are an example for us - When Moses did not return from the mountain (delayed) - they desired a god to lead them. ASAP no waiting, now. Consider this episode and be warned.

Exodus 32:1 Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, "Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him." 2 And Aaron said to them, "Break off the golden earrings which are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me." 3 So all the people broke off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them to Aaron. 4 And he received the gold from their hand, and he fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made a molded calf. Then they said, "This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!"

Exodus 32:5 So when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made a proclamation and said, "Tomorrow is a feast to the LORD." 6 Then they rose early on the next day, offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

Exodus 32:7 And the LORD said to Moses, "Go, get down! For your people whom you brought out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves. 8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They have made themselves a molded calf, and worshiped it and sacrificed to it, and said, 'This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!' " 9 And the LORD said to Moses, "I have seen this people, and indeed it is a stiff-necked people! 10 Now therefore, let Me alone, that My wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume them. And I will make of you a great nation."

Exodus 32:11 Then Moses pleaded with the LORD his God, and said: "LORD, why does Your wrath burn hot against Your people whom You have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? 12 Why should the Egyptians speak, and say, 'He brought them out to harm them, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth'? Turn from Your fierce wrath, and relent from this harm to Your people. 13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You swore by Your own self, and said to them, 'I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven; and all this land that I have spoken of I give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.' "

Exodus 32:14 So the LORD relented from the harm which He said He would do to His people.

Exodus 32:15 And Moses turned and went down from the mountain, and the two tablets of the Testimony were in his hand. The tablets were written on both sides; on the one side and on the other they were written. 16 Now the tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God engraved on the tablets.

Exodus 32:19 So it was, as soon as he came near the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing. So Moses' anger became hot, and he cast the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain. 20 Then he took the calf which they had made, burned it in the fire, and ground it to powder; and he scattered it on the water and made the children of Israel drink it.

Exodus 32:21 And Moses said to Aaron, "What did this people do to you that you have brought so great a sin upon them?"

Exodus 32:22 So Aaron said, "Do not let the anger of my lord become hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil. 23 For they said to me, 'Make us gods that shall go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.' 24 And I said to them, 'Whoever has any gold, let them break it off.' So they gave it to me, and I cast it into the fire, and this calf came out."

Exodus 32:30 Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses said to the people, "You have committed a great sin. So now I will go up to the LORD; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin."

Yet Moses stands in the gap (Ezekiel 9 some will be spared) Exodus 32:31 Then Moses returned to the LORD and said, "Oh, these people have committed a great sin, and have made for themselves a god of gold! 32 Yet now, if You will forgive their sin -- but if not, I pray, blot me out of Your book which You have written."

Principle Exodus 32:33 And the LORD said to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book.

David had to wait the promised Throne

Yeshua is waiting for the Father to say "Go"

We need to wait for Him

Read of the faithful that waited Hebrews 11:1 thru 12:2 "Faith is to look beyond the present…"

Heb 12:1 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

These all looked forward - "Beyond" the present circumstances and God looked beyond their weaknesses and faults, forgave then and worked with them - they looked for a city whose foundation and builder was the Creator.

Mic 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?

Looking beyond? Be comforted with Psalm 77

Also the book of James

Jas 5:7 Be patient, therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. 8 You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. 9 Do not complain, brethren, against one another, that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door.

Until that glorious time, as we wait, abide - by the power of Messiah

Col 3:12 And so, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.

Col 3:14 And beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

*Looking beyond requires us to be patient and wait - YHVH is faithful and His word will come to pass.

Proverbs

Endure (wait)

Proverbs 28:2 By the transgression of a land many are its princes, but by a man of understanding and knowledge, so it endures.

Proverbs 8:34 "Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, Waiting at my doorposts.

Proverbs 21:28 A false witness will perish, But the man who listens to the truth will speak forever.

Our goal is to endure to the end: Matt 24:13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Saying(s)

"When we have done our best, we should wait the result is peace."

J. Lubbock -

"Today, respond to any problem, setback, hindrance, or attack by pressing on all the more, to apprehend the victory that lies just beyond it."

Jonathan Chan (Book of Mysteries: Day 135)

Attitude Shift

Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store. She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries.

She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food.

John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store at once.

Visualizing the family needs, she said: "Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as soon as I can."

John told her he could not give her credit, since she did not have a charge account at his store.

Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two.

The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family. The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, "Do you have a grocery list?"

Louise replied, "Yes sir." "OK" he said, "put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries."

Louise, hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed.

The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and stayed down.

The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, "I can't believe it."

The customer smiled, and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more.

The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement.

It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said:
"Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands."

The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence.

Louise thanked him and left the store.
The other customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said: "It was worth every penny of it ... Only God Knows how much a prayer weighs."

THE POWER OF PRAYER: Just stop right now, and say a prayer of thanks for your own good…

May you always walk with Angels.

Lighter Side?

Life in Messiah

Approval?

How much approval do you need to keep going? Yeshua (Jesus) told a story about a rich man who went on a long journey. The point of the story was about the conduct of his servants in his absence. He wasn't present to direct or correct them, and as a result, some behaved badly and didn't carry out the duties assigned to them. In the story Yeshua is the rich man who will return, and you are the servant. The people around you may not appreciate your faithful service to Him even if they benefit from it. Yet He is with you even as you occupy until His coming. Do you sense His favor and approval to sustain you now, even as you wait for His return?

Patience

Has not Yeshua promised that you shall have anything you ask of Him? Yet He did not promise to give it to you immediately. Are you accustomed to having anything you want without delay? Do you lose interest in things you have to wait for? This is impatience and it is a problem in our modern culture of immediacy. Some things of real value you can have immediately, but in most cases the greater things take the longest times to obtain. This applies not just too material things, but to desirable items like education and experience, and even to spiritual things, and so patience is a fruit of the Spirit. The wait is part of the value of what you want, and the process of waiting transforms you into His likeness.

Blessed be YHVH (Genesis 14:20 And blessed be God Most High…)
