Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.

For His Glory!

Message

Hear and Heed

Rev 2:7 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches…"

Is the Church glorifying God today?

1Cor 6:20 For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

Is the Church Spotless?

2Pet 3:14 Therefore… be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,

The Church of God is made up of people - forgiven - redeemed - purchased with the blood of Christ - set free from sin and called to represent the Kingdom of God

Listen - Hear - Heed

Acts 3:22 (NAS) "Moses said, 'The Lord God shall raise up for you a prophet like me from your brethren; to Him you shall give heed in everything He says to you. (That is Yeshua)

Luke 9:35 ESV And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, my Chosen One; listen to him!"

Luke 11:28 But He (Yeshua) said, "… blessed are those who hear the word of God, and observe it."

Therefore

Matt 13:9 NAS "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"

To those not willing to hear, Yeshua spoke in Parables…But

Matt 13:13 "Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. 14 And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: 'Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; 15 (Why?) For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.' 16 But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear; 17 for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

John 8:47 "He who is of God hears God's words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God."

A Key is Understanding the Parable of the Sower

Mark 4:10 And when he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables. (Mark 4:1-9)

Mark 4:11 And He was saying to them, "To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God; but those who are outside get everything in parables,

Consider

Mark 4:13 And he said to them, "Do you not understand this parable? (of the sower) How then will you understand all the parables?

Mark 4:15 "And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.

Mark 4:16 "These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 and they have no firm root in themselves, but are only temporary; then, when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they fall away.

Mark 4:18 "Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, 19 and the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

Mark 4:20 "But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred."

Yet

Mark 4:33 … with many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear it.

Luke 6:27 " But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

Luke 8:21 … "My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it."

John 9:31 "Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.

John 10:27 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

What might hinder us from hearing? WHY do we reason?

Mark 8:17 … "Why do you reason …? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened? 18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?

Acts 28:27 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them." ' 28 "Therefore let it be known to you that the salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it!"

John 14:24 "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.

Know this

Rom 10:11 For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved." 14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!" 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?" 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Matt 13:43 "Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

Cornelius and Peter - Barnabas and Saul

Acts 10:22 And they said, "Cornelius the centurion, a just man, one who fears God and has a good reputation among all the nation of the Jews, was divinely instructed by a holy angel to summon you to his house, and to hear words from you." … 33 "…therefore, we are all present before God, to hear all the things commanded you by God."

Acts 13:7 … This man called for Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God.

Acts 13:44 On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God.

Acts 17:32 And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, "We will hear you again on this matter."

Take Heed

Luke 16:31 "But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.' "

Mark 4:23 "If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear." 24 Then He said to them, "Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.

Luke 8:18 "Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him."

1Tim 4:16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

Heb 3:7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you will hear His voice, 8 Do not harden your hearts as when they provoked Me, As in the day of trial in the wilderness, 9 Where your fathers tried Me by testing Me, And saw My works for forty years. …12 Take care, brethren, lest there should be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart, in falling away from the living God. …15 while it is said: "Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion."

Be a doer

Jas 1:19 This you know, my beloved brethren. But let everyone be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; …22 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; 24 for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. 25 But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man shall be blessed in what he does. 26 If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is worthless. 27 This is pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father, to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

1John 4:6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

Want to be Blessed?

Luke 11:28 But He said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"

Rev 1:3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it…

Blessing for those that Hear and Overcome to the Churches in The Revelation:

Ephesus

Rev 2:7 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God." '

Smyrna

Rev 2:11 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death." '

Pergamum

Rev 2:17 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it." '

Thyatira

Rev 2:26 'And he who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations… 29 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." '

Sardis

Rev 3:5 'He who overcomes shall thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels. 6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." '

Philadelphia

Rev 3:12 'He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write upon him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My new name. 13 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." '

Laodicea

Rev 3:21 'He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." ' "

We are all admonished to hear and overcome - are we a part of the Church of God?

Rev 13:9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear.

For the Churches of God - in His image - in mind and thought - be zealous, hear and overcome.

Proverbs

Are we listening?

Proverbs 1:5 Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance,

Proverbs 19:27 Cease to hear instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge.

Proverbs 22:17 Incline your ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply your heart to my knowledge,

Saying(s)

"Pardon me also, and deal mercifully with me, as often as I think of anything besides You in prayer. For I confess truly that I am accustomed to being very much distracted. Very often I am not where bodily I stand or sit; rather, I am where my thoughts carry me. Where my thoughts are, there am I; and frequently my thoughts are where my love is. That which naturally delights, or is by habit pleasing, comes to me quickly. Hence You Who are Truth itself, have plainly said: 'For where your treasure is, there is your heart also.' If I love heaven, I think willingly of heavenly things. If I love the world, I rejoice at the happiness of the world and grieve at its troubles. If I love the flesh, I often imagine things that are carnal. If I love the spirit, I delight in thinking of spiritual matters. For whatever I love, I am willing to speak and hear about."

― Thomas ΰ
Kempis, The Imitation of Christ

What do we need to Hear?

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches

Rev 3:22 (NAS)

The problem:

Man does not want or cannot hear what the Spirit is saying.

1Cor 2:14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

The Solution:

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren, what shall we do?" 38 And Peter said to them, "Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

Matt 7:7 "Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened.

1Cor 2:9 ESV But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him"- 10 these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 11 For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

1Cor 2:13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.

1Cor 2:15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 16 "For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

Therefore, understand our need for and the power of His Holy Spirit

Did you know?

TO ALL THE KIDS
WHO SURVIVED the

1930's 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's !!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we
rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took like hitchhiking

As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.

Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and

NO ONE died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank coolade made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING
!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, if we were back
when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day.
And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down
the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Play stations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or chat rooms . .
WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
lawsuits from these accidents.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays,
We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang
the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of ...
They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned
HOW TO
DEAL WITH IT ALL!

If YOU are one of them ...
 CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as
kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives

for our own good

And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were.

Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?

The quote of the month is by Jay Leno:

"With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks,
are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"

For those that prefer to think that God is not watching over us ... go ahead and delete this.
For the rest of us . . . be thankful
.

Lighter Side?

Now what does he do?

A man owned a small ranch in New Mexico. An agent of the New Mexico Wage & Hour Board dropped by, on a routine check to see if he was paying proper wages to his help.

"I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them," said the agent.

"Well," replied the rancher, "There's my ranch hand who's been with me for 3 years. I pay him $600 a week plus free room and board

"Then there's the cook. She's been here for 18 months, and I pay her $500 per week plus free room and board.

"Finally, there's a half-wit who works 18 hours every day and does about 90% of all the work around here. He makes about $30 a week, pays his own room and board, and I buy him a bottle of bourbon every Saturday night."

"That's the guy I want to talk to, the half-wit," says the agent.

"That would be me." replied the rancher.

Life in Messiah

Another way of Hearing

Have you heard of a witnessing tool called the four spiritual laws? The first of these is that God loves you and has a plan for your life. In Biblical terms this is called a destiny, the future and the hope He has for you. It is intricate and detailed and specifically designed just for you. You also have an adversary who has come to steal, kill, and destroy. He does not have a specific plan for you the way the Creator does… Do you find this discouraging that there is only one way to be right and an unlimited number of ways to be wrong? Let not your heart be troubled, for Jesus came to destroy the works of the enemy. Never underestimate Christ’s ability to bring about His perfect plan in the lives of those who love Him.

You read God’s word and it teaches you that the normal experience of a believer is to be led by the Spirit. Yet how many believers do you know who are willing to confidently assert that they are led by the Spirit? There are so few that those who do have a valid concern for being considered arrogant rather than normal. This is a reversal of understanding, for it is the proud who go their own way, and the humble who depend on His guidance. Do you think that you are unable to hear from God well enough to receive clear direction? Yet if you are willing this will happen. Are you not already able to look back and see how He intervened in your life while you were unaware?

Psalms

The Hearing One will Trust in God

Ps 95:7 For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you would hear His voice, 8 Do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, As in the day of Massah in the wilderness; 9 "When your fathers tested Me, They tried Me, though they had seen My work. 10 For forty years I loathed that generation, And said they are a people who err in their heart, And they do not know My ways. 11 Therefore I swore in My anger, Truly they shall not enter into My rest."

Psalm 85:8 I will hear what God the LORD will say; For He will speak peace to His people, to His godly ones; But let them not turn back to folly.

Psalm 143:8 Let me hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning; For I trust in Thee; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to Thee I lift up my soul.

Blessed be YHVH (Genesis 14:20 And blessed be God Most High…)
