Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.

For His Glory!

Judgement Day

Rom 14:10 (NKJV unless indicated)

… For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

Righteousness - Justice - Equity

Does Scripture give us a glimpse of the coming judgement?

Yes - The Sheep and Goats of Matthew 25 is just one

What does Christ use to judge the impact of our lives?

Matt 25:31 " When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another [the judgement], as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.

The Sheep

Matt 25:34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 'for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'

Matt 25:37 "Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? …

The determining factor in the eyes of our King

Matt 25:40 "And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'

To the Goats

Matt 25:41 "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 44 "Then they also will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?'

Matt 25:45 "Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'

The judgement?

Matt 25:46 "And these [goats] will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

In the above example it is not only nations but also individuals and, if you would, churches that are being examined for their Christ like love for others - especially those in need.

1Pet 2:12 NLT Be careful how you live among your unbelieving neighbors. Even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will believe and give honor to God when he comes to judge the world.

Pure religion

Jas 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Righteousness (The virtue of the Sheep Matt 25 - doing what is right)

Matt 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

Matt 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness…

Matt 13:43 "Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father…

Righteousness, Justice and Equity

Ps 98:9 For He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He shall judge the world, And the peoples with equity.

Prov 1:3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, Justice, judgment, and equity;

Equity - one in Christ - (impartiality, fairness, evenhandedness, justness)

Gal 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Mercy and Justice

Hos 12:6 So you, by the help of your God, return; Observe mercy and justice, And wait on your God continually.

What does Justice (Righteousness) look like?

Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?

1. justice, rightness, righteousness

a. what is right or just or normal, rightness, justness

b. righteousness (in government)

c. righteousness, justice (in case or cause)

d. rightness (in speech)

e. righteousness (as ethically right)

f. righteousness (as vindicated), justification (in controversy), deliverance, victory, prosperity

YHVH’s instruction

Exodus 22:21 " You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. 22 You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. 23 If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry; 24 and My wrath [judgement] will become hot, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

Abraham’s obedience

Gen 18:18 "since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? 19 For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him."

Creator’s example

Jeremiah 9:23 Thus says the LORD: "Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; 24 But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight," says the LORD.

Cornelius’s behavior (a gentile’s witness)

Acts 10:1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment, 2 a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always.

The problem - too many goats

Isa 59:14 Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands afar off; For truth is fallen in the street, And equity cannot enter. (Sound like todays culture?)

Matt 21:32 "For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and harlots believed him; and when you saw it, you did not afterward relent and believe him.

When those who believe are in need, when we seem overwhelmed or in bondage, we need to first examine our lives by the standards set forth in Scripture; then cry out to our King who hears, and He will send forth deliverance. When we are in accord (at one) with Him we will be representing Him; thus, we will be helping those in need around us; as in Isaiah 58.

Are we then "A repairer of the breach"?

Will not our judgement be by this standard?

Our mandate is…

Isa 58:6 "Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? 7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?

Isa 58:8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. 9 Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, 'Here I am.' "If you take away the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, 10 If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall be as the noonday.

Isa 58:11 [Then] The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. 12 Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.

Yeshua, our example, came to repair the breach (to restore the Kingdom)

Matt 11:4 Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: 5 The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. 6 And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me."

How are we doing? Are we representing the Righteousness and Justice of our King?

Ps 89:14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face.

Ps 85:13 Righteousness will go before Him, And shall make His footsteps our pathway.

Matt 19:21 Jesus said to him, "… and give to the poor …and come, follow Me."

Proverbs

Righteousness - Justice - Equity

Proverbs 1:3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, Justice, judgment, and equity;

Proverbs 2:9 Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path.

Proverbs 16:8 Better is a little with righteousness, Than vast revenues without justice.

Proverbs 21:3 To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

Proverbs 21:7 The violence of the wicked will destroy them, because they refuse to do justice.

Proverbs 28:5 Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand all.

Proverbs 29:26 … But justice for man comes from the LORD.

Saying(s)

"Learned arguments do not make a man holy and righteous, whereas a good life makes him dear to God."

― Thomas ΰ Kempis, The Imitation of Christ

Did you know?

A professor at CCNY for a physiological psych class told his class about bananas. He said the expression "going bananas" is from the effects of bananas on the brain. Read on:

Never, put your banana in the refrigerator!!!
This is interesting.

After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber.

A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for

A strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the
Number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.

But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit.

It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number
Of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression:
According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND
Amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana.
This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that
The body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax,
Improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS:
Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains

Regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia:
High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of

Hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure:
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high

In potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure.
So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed
The banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to
Reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power:
200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school
(England) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas
At breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power.
Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist
Learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation:
High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can

Help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem
Without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers:
One of the quickest
ways of curing a hangover
Is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms
The stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted
Blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn:
Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body,

So if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness:
Snacking on bananas between meals
Helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites:
Before reaching for the insect bite cream,

Try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin.
Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves:
Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight
and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in
Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate

And chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most
Obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded
That, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our
Blood sugar level ls by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every
Two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers:
The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders

Because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit
That can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases.
It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control:
Many other cultures see bananas

As a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and
Emotional temperature of expectant mothers.

In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their

baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD):
Bananas can help
SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking &Tobacco Use:
Bananas can also help people

Trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as
The potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover
From the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress:
Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance.

When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels.

These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes:
According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine,

eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by
strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts:
Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want

to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart,
with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you

compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the
carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron,
and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium
and is one of the best value foods around So maybe it’s time to change
that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

Lighter Side?

Through the eyes of a child:

The Children's Bible in a Nutshell

In the beginning, which occurred near the start, there was nothing but God, darkness, and some gas. The Bible says, 'The Lord thy God is one, but I think He must be a lot older than that.

Anyway, God said, 'Give me a light!' and someone did. Then God made the world.

He split the Adam and made Eve. Adam and Eve were naked, but they weren't embarrassed because mirrors hadn't been invented yet. Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating one bad apple, so they were driven from the Garden of Eden....Not sure what they were driven in though, because they didn't have cars. Adam and Eve had a son, Cain, who hated his brother as long as he was Abel.

Pretty soon all the early people died off, except for Methuselah, who lived to be like a million or something.

One of the next important people was Noah, who was a good guy, but one of his kids was kind of a Ham. Noah built a large boat and put his family and some animals on it. He asked some other people to join him, but they said they would have to take a rain check.

After Noah came Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob was more famous than his brother, Esau, because Esau sold Jacob his birthmark in exchange for some pot roast. Jacob had a son named Joseph who wore a really loud sports coat.

Another important Bible guy is Moses; whose real name was Charlton Heston. Moses led the Israel Lights out of Egypt and away from the evil Pharaoh after God sent ten plagues on Pharaoh's people. These plagues included frogs, mice, lice, bowels, and no cable.

God fed the Israel Lights every day with manicotti. Then he gave them His Top Ten Commandments. These include don't lie, cheat, smoke, dance, or covet your neighbor's stuff. Oh,

yeah, I just thought of one more: Humor thy father and thy mother.

One of Moses' best helpers was Joshua who was the first Bible guy to use spies. Joshua fought the battle of Geritol, and the fence fell over on the town.

After Joshua came David. He got to be king by killing a giant with a slingshot. He had a son named Solomon who had about 300 wives and 500 porcupines. My teacher says he was wise, but that doesn't sound very wise to me.

After Solomon there were a bunch of major league prophets. One of these was Jonah, who was swallowed by a big whale and then barfed up on the shore.

There were also some minor league prophets, but I guess we don't have to worry about them.

After the Old Testament came the New Testament. Jesus is the star of The New. He was born in Bethlehem in a barn. (I wish I had been born in a barn too, because my mom is always saying to me, 'Close the door! Were you born in a barn?' It would be nice to say, 'As a matter of fact, I was.')

During His life, Jesus had many arguments with sinners like the Pharisees and the Democrats. Jesus also had twelve opossums.

The worst one was Judas Asparagus. Judas was so evil that they named a terrible vegetable after him.

Jesus was a great man. He healed many leopards and even preached to some Germans on the Mount.

But the Democrats and all those guys put Jesus on trial before Pontius the Pilot. Pilot didn't stick up for Jesus. He just washed his hands instead.

Anyways, Jesus died for our sins, then came back to life again. He went up to Heaven but will be back at the end of the Aluminum. His return is foretold in the book of Revolution.

Life in Messiah

Justice

Have you been wronged, the victim of abuse, unfairness, and injustice? Does your flesh rise seeking justice and vengeance? Are you eager to take matters into your own hands to make things right by any means available to you? Instead take it to Messiah. There is a Biblical method for resolving differences. One of the first steps is to go to your brother, but even before that you should pray about the matter. These situations require godly wisdom, and before you can make peace with your brother you must have peace within yourself, only Christ can give this. This is more important than any resolution of justice you would accomplish with someone else.
