The End Times Commentary Chapter Three What will be the sign of the end? Matthew 24 Being fertile ground for End time prophecies In this series of messages about the end time events we have covered ‘Who’ really knows the end (from the very beginning Ch. One), the need to be attuned to the Spirit that leads us into all truth (Ch. Two). Previous to that we did a series on prophecy and the prophets. We rest in the promise that YHVH will do nothing without first revealing it to the prophets (Amos 3:7). With this background we are ready to look at what Yeshua (Jesus) said to His disciples in Matthew 24. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. **** Wars - famines - pestilences - earthquakes Matt 24:6 "And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.2 Thessalonians 2:2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 2 Chronicles 15:6 "So nation was destroyed by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every adversity. Isaiah 19:2 "I will set Egyptians against Egyptians; Everyone will fight against his brother, And everyone against his neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kingdom. **** End time Sorrows for the Saints Matt 24:8 "All these are the beginning of sorrows.9 Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.

Matthew 13:41 "The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, **** Need for endurance to the end … Matt 24:13 "But he who endures to the end shall be saved.Matthew 10:22 "And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. Rev 2:26 "And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations -- **** Gospel must be preached to all nations before the end. Matt 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Matthew 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Rev 14:6 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth -- to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people -- **** The "KEY" to knowing we are in the last days Matt 24:15 " Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),Mark 13:14 "So when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not" (let the reader understand), "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Daniel 12:11 "And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. Daniel 9:27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate." Daniel 11:31 "And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. **** Summary: It is the Torah, the Prophets, the Hebrew Scriptures and what Yeshua and writers of the NT present to us that gives us a vivid picture of end time events; so that we may know; there is a Creator God that knows the end from the beginning. He reveals the events of end times to us in His inspired written Word; by His Holy Spirit to the churches and those that chose to hear and obey - Rev 3:22 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."*The scripture references are not exhaustive; they are to give the essence of their heading In this Commentary when statements are supported by Scripture it may only be one or two verses; even though many more could be used. Being Effective Mental Humility Do you have assumptions and thought patterns that prevent you from understanding the truth? Are you able to accurately describe yours? Most people are subject to these things, yet are also blind to them, so they hold them without realizing them. Yours will have less power over you if you are aware of them. Jesus criticized the Pharisees for being blind guides. Others asked if they were blind also. It may seem strange that they would not know, but false certainty is an insidious trap. Yeshua (Jesus) made a great promise in view of these things, that you could know the truth, and be free. Hope for the World. We are liable to limit God; we are disposed to look for Him only in certain quarters; we are apt to conclude that He works mainly, if not only, in certain prescribed channels. We say He is in the church. And so He is. But He is not confined to this one channel or organization. He fulfills Himself in various ways. In His infinite wisdom He uses a multitude of instrumentalities for the accomplishment of His purposes. I have more hope for the world than some others, perhaps, because I can see God’s beneficent power working where many men see Him not. Like the young man with the old prophet, men’s eyes are closed to the vision of heavenly helpers that throng the mountainside, which the keener vision of Elisha saw. Your future is behind you Time seems to come at us head-on: the future in front, the past behind. Not so for the Aymara people of the Andes. Because the past is what they have experienced, it lies ahead, where they can see it. The future remains hidden, so it is behind them. That’s because visual evidence is particularly important to the Aymara. Their grammar, for instance, indicates whether you personally saw Joe go to the store (-vna), or learned he was going there (-tayna). You’d also use -tayna if you saw Joe leaving while you were drunk, so your eyesight can’t be trusted. This emphasis on vision frames their view of time.
