The End Times Commentary Chapter Four Part two of Matthew 24 "See, I have told you beforehand." End time prophecies In this series of messages about the end times, we are covering ‘Who’ really knows the end. We need to be attuned to the Spirit to lead us into all truth and what Yeshua (Jesus) said to His disciples in Matthew 24. Does it matter what will happen in the future? It is important to have a relationship with Messiah but is that all? Why is so much of Scripture about prophecy (approx. one third)? Is it not because He is calling a group to reign and rule with Him? And if these called out ones (the saints), are to be His representatives now, then they are His light to the nations even to the end. Not only are the saints to proclaim the good news of salvation (which is in Christ alone) but also about the great and marvelous coming rule of our King Yeshua. Mark 13:22"For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 2 Timothy 2:10Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. Mark 13:27"And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven. Acts 8:9But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great, And false christs right up to the end Matt 24:24 "For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Luke 17:23"And they will say to you, 'Look here!' or 'Look there!' Do not go after them or follow them. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-119 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, Revelation 13:13-1413 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. Revelation 16:14For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Yeshua (Jesus) says we have been told - no excuses… Matt 24:25 "See, I have told you beforehand. John 14:29"And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe. Therefore: Matt 24:26 "Therefore if they say to you, 'Look, He is in the desert!' do not go out; or 'Look, He is in the inner rooms!' do not believe it. Acts 21:38"Are you not the Egyptian who some time ago stirred up a rebellion and led the four thousand assassins out into the wilderness?" At Yeshua’ coming … Matt 24:27 "For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Luke 17:24"For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day. Zechariah 9:14Then the LORD will be seen over them, And His arrow will go forth like lightning. The Lord GOD will blow the trumpet, And go with whirlwinds from the south. The carcass’ of those that refused to repent Matt 24:28 "For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together. Luke 17:37And they answered and said to Him, "Where, Lord?" So He said to them, "Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together." Job 39:30Its young ones suck up blood; And where the slain are, there it is." (Where the slain are - this statement ends the comment in verses 20-22) Judgement - The Day of the Lord Matt 24:29 " Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Zephaniah 1:15and desolation, A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, Revelation 6:13And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Isaiah 13:10For the stars of heaven and their constellations Will not give their light; The sun will be darkened in its going forth, And the moon will not cause its light to shine. Isaiah 24:23Then the moon will be disgraced And the sun ashamed; For the LORD of hosts will reign On Mount Zion and in Jerusalem And before His elders, gloriously. Ezekiel 32:7When I put out your light, I will cover the heavens, and make its stars dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, And the moon shall not give her light. Joel 2:10The earth quakes before them, The heavens tremble; The sun and moon grow dark, And the stars diminish their brightness. Joel 2:31The sun shall be turned into darkness , And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.Summary: End time events are given beforehand that we may know our Creator. He alone knows the end from the beginning. Jesus (Yeshua) answered His disciples in Matt 24:3 … "Tell us… what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" Yeshua (Jesus) began His dissertation by saying, "Take heed that no one deceives you…" (V4). And in verse 25 tells us, "See, I have told you beforehand." Yeshua was relaying what the Father told Him and it is confirmed by the Scriptures: Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.Remember what Yeshua says to the churches… Rev 3:22 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."*The scripture references are not exhaustive; they are to give the essence of their heading. In this Commentary when statements are supported by Scripture it may only be one or two verses. Even though many more may apply. Because this is the writer’s understanding (at this time) it may be in some cases subjective; thankfully we have His Word and His Spirit to keep us on the straight and narrow way (path). Blessings |
