Now we want to compare that series with the Church as it is today.

The church today belongs to Yeshua (Jesus) said: "I will build My church" Matt 16:15-18 (NKJV unless indicated)

Primarily the church is a society not of thinkers or workers or even of worshippers, but of believers. Hence, we find that "believers" or "they that believed" is constantly used as a synonym for the members of the Christian society (e.g.). Acts 2:44 Now all who believed were together…

2. Fellowship:

If faith in Christ is the fundamental note of the Christian society, the next is fellowship … each believer is vitally joined to Christ, all believers must stand in a living relation to one another. Rom 12:5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.

… The unity of the church was clearly recognized from the first. … There was but one church. (Acts 11:22) with the vision of the church as a body of which Christ is the head, a body animated by one spirit, and having one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all. Eph 4:4

The consecration of its members … "Saints" … an objective meaning; the sainthood of the Christian society consisted in its separation from the world by God's electing grace… 1Pet 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people…

To the Christian society there thus belonged the double power of legislating for its own members and of opening the kingdom of heaven to all believers. …She (the Church) believed that Christ was with her always, even unto the end of the world, and that the power with which she was endued was power from on high. Matt 16:19; Luke 24:49 "Behold, I send the Promise of My Father … until you are endued with power from on high."

Deut 10:12 " And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

Mic 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?

Zeph 2:3 Seek the LORD, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the LORD's anger.

Zech 7:9 "Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Execute true justice, Show mercy and compassion Everyone to his brother. 10 Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, The alien or the poor. Let none of you plan evil in his heart Against his brother.'

Zech 8:16 These are the things you shall do: Speak each man the truth to his neighbor; Give judgment in your gates for truth, justice, and peace;

Ps 82:3 Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy.

Jas 2:13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

1Chr 16:11 Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore!

Isa 55:6 Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.

Amos 5:4 For thus says the LORD … "Seek Me and live;
