Message

The I Am

This is my God:

Revelation 15:3-4 … "Great and marvelous are Your works, O Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations! Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy; For ALL THE NATIONS WILL COME AND WORSHIP BEFORE YOU, FOR YOUR RIGHTEOUS ACTS HAVE BEEN REVEALED."
(Psalm 86:8-10 There is no one like You among the gods, O Lord, Nor are there any works like Yours. All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, And they shall glorify Your name. For You are great and do wondrous deeds; You alone are God.) [NAS unless noted]

Great and marvelous is YHVH our God; did you notice all the descriptive terms? There is great comfort in knowing the sure Awesomeness of our Creator.

Job 9:4 His wisdom is profound, his power is vast…
5 He moves mountains …
6 He shakes the earth …
7 He speaks to the sun and it does not shine…
8 He alone stretches out the heavens …
9 He is the Maker of the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the constellations …
10 He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.
32 He is not a man like me that I might answer him…

YHVH = The I Am = The Eternal One (Who is, Who was and Who is to come).

Jeremiah 33:2-3 "Thus says the LORD who made the earth, the LORD who formed it to establish it, the LORD is His name, ‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

YHVH calls to us to repent of our ways and to put Him first. He desires a relationship that will build our faith and instill in us the assurance of His trustworthiness. When we are in His care His Spirit will transform us into the image of Yeshua. Our life, our rest and peace, our expression of His love to others, will identify us as the sons of God.

Blessed be YHVH

Proverbs

Proverbs 8:12, 14 "I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, And I find knowledge and discretion. Counsel is mine and sound wisdom; I am understanding, power is mine.

The book of Proverbs is YHVH’s wisdom written for our learning. The Spirit speaking through Solomon invites us to share in the attributes of the I Am; to instill in us trust. We encourage you to read all of chapter 8 to help grasp the greatness of our God, the I Am.

Saying (s)

"For fast acting relief try slowing down." Lily Tomlin

One may think this is humorous and well it is. However there is a spiritual application. When we try doing things on our own we often end up frustrated. When we wait on God, trusting His Word, we can have the assurance He will direct our paths; then we will have peace, and true relief. (Proverbs 3:5)

Humility

In our pursuit of humility: (Lesson from humility in daily life.)

"In striving after the higher experiences of the Christian life, the believer is often in danger of seeking the more visible virtues, such as joy, boldness, zeal, contempt of the world, self-sacrifice … rather than the gentler graces those which are more distinctly connected with Jesus’ cross and death to self: poverty of spirit, meekness, humility, lowliness. Therefore let us put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering; and let us prove our Christ likeness not only in our zeal for saving the lost but also in our relationships with others..." Andrew Murray

It is not just, wanting to like Messiah, we must be like Him. Because of His great humility He took on the form of a servant and died for His creation. Can we likewise humble ourselves and serve our fellow man? The great I AM said He would send the enabling power of His Spirit to transform us.

2Cor 3:17-18 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

Prayer

Understanding the precepts of prayer.

Our desire should be to know YHVH

Exodus 33:17-18 And the LORD (YHVH) said to Moses, "I will also do this thing of which you have spoken; for you have found favor in My sight, and I have known you by name." Then Moses said, "I pray You, show me Your glory!"

Before Moses was sent back to Egypt, YHVH revealed Himself to him as The I AM:

Exodus 3:13-15 Then Moses said to God, "Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?" God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’" God, furthermore, said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘The LORD (YHVH), the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name to all generations.

See the Article on the Name.

Moses wanted to draw closer to the God of Israel. By the blood of the Lamb we also may go before the Father and ask to have a closer relationship; to be as our Savior.

Our prayer should be "show me your glory".

2 Corinthians 3:18 (ESV) And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

Heart of God

How does God feel about issues we face today?

Heb 13:5 …I will never leave you, nor forsake you.

God tells us that he will never leave us, that he will not fail us or test us more than we can handle (1 Cor 10:13).  He does not change (Mal 3:6), He is a constant that we can count on.  Why then does it seem He is distant and far away at times?  The problem is us.  When we sin, we turn our back on God and walk away.  That is why we cannot find Him.  Repent, turn back to God and seek his face and you shall find Him.

Jer 29:13 And you shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart.

Material in this section will be based on various prayer diaries.

Did you know:

104 YEAR OLD FILM CLIP - San Francisco , California - [April 1906]

This is a real treasure! "You are there" for a cable car ride in San Francisco. This film was "lost" for many years. It was the first 35 mm film ever. It was taken by camera mounted on the front of a cable car. The number of automobiles is staggering for 1906. Absolutely amazing! The clock tower at the end of Market Street at the Embarcadero wharf is still there. How many "street cleaning" people were employed to pick up after the horses? Who knows! Talk about going green.

Great historical film! Watch the scampering as "Joe Public" races away from autos, horses, cable cars and bicycles and the willy-nilly traffic pattern of visible autos, trucks, horse drawn carriages and bikes on Market Street.

This film, originally thought  to be from 1905 until David Kiehn with the

Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum figured out exactly when it was shot. From New York trade papers announcing the film showing to the wet streets from recent heavy rainfall & shadows indicating time of year & actual weather and conditions on historical record, even when the cars were registered (he even knows who owned them and when the plates were issued!). It was filmed only four days before the Great California Earthquake of April 18th 1906 and shipped by train to NY for processing.

Cause and Effect

Perceive your sadness as the shadow of the blessing that is on its way.

We live in a material world, all the while being granted the privilege to peer into the immaterial, the spiritual, that which eyes of flesh alone cannot perceive.

(Michael Boldea Jr.)

Consider

All wise people share one trait…the ability to listen.

You can improve your tomorrows by understanding better your yesterdays.

A prudent question is one-half of wisdom.

Be not afraid of moving slowly; be afraid of standing still.

The Garden Corner

Grey Skies Are A Blessing

I was glaring gloomily out the window on a dreary day in late November during my morning devotions. The iron-grey clouds matched the ugly ground that did not yet have snow on it. It was drizzling that icy cold rain that makes you want to stay inside and drink hot cocoa. I wanted some blue sky and sunshine and my mood matched the current weather. Yahweh spoke to me while I was journaling and explained something to me that changed my entire outlook on grey rainy days. "Grey skies are a blessing. There is water in those clouds. Water is life. The beautiful blue sky that you crave brings death if it does not rain. Water is life. Without it the plants will die. I am bringing rain to water the plants before the ground freezes. The snow protects them in the winter. Look at the grey sky and see life. Water that I give freely. My life. Change your perception and change your attitude. Enjoy the sunny days but do not mourn the grey ones." This is definitely wonderful advice as if my mood were to match the weather everyday; I would surely be more foul than fair. In our part of Michigan we have less sunny days than Seattle Washington on average. Perception is everything. I have to choose to be sunny and thankful for the weather, no matter what state of grey it is.

Psalm Promise(s)

Psalm 116
7
Return to your rest, O my soul, For the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.
8 For You have rescued my soul from death, My eyes from tears, My feet from stumbling.

Regardless of our every day circumstances each of us has been given responsibilities to bear by YHVH (The I Am). If we have the deep abiding trust in all that He has and will do for us we can dwell in peace. We can rejoice; we can endure because we have victory through His indwelling Spirit of power. Thank You Yeshua Messiah.

Blessed be YHVH (Genesis 14:20 And blessed be God Most High…)
