Words

What shall we say then? If we accept Yeshua (Jesus) as our Master we become part of the restoration of all things. We are no longer to do our own thing. We are to be conformed to the image of the Son of God because we are sons of God. We are no longer living for self but have become a kingdom of priests unto the Most High; offering our adoration to the Almighty we also intercede for our fellow creatures. By the power of the Holy Spirit we are being transformed so that the words of our mouth will be the fruit of His Spirit.

We have a responsibility to speak the words of YHVH (The LORD).

Exodus 19:6 and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel."

(We are part of this promise to Israel) Gal 3:29 And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise.

God’s Words are Truth:

2Sam 7:28 "And now, O Lord God, Thou art God, and Thy words are truth

The Ten Words (We call them the ten Commandments):

Deut 5:22 "These words the LORD spoke to all your assembly at the mountain from the midst of the fire, of the cloud and of the thick gloom, with a great voice, and He added no more. And He wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.

Israel Agreed to these Words:

Exodus 24:3 Then Moses came and recounted to the people all the words of the LORD and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, "All the words which the LORD has spoken we will do!"

The Goodness of YHVH’s Word:

Ps 119:103 How sweet are Thy words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Ps 119:130 The unfolding of Thy words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.

The seriousness of our Words:

Matt 12:34 "…For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. 36 "And I say to you, that every careless word that men shall speak, they shall render account for it in the day of judgment. 37 "For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned."

Deut 27:26 'Cursed is he who does not confirm the words of this law by doing them.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen.'

Our words do not go unnoticed:

Ezek 35:13 "And you have spoken arrogantly against Me and have multiplied your words against Me; I have heard."

Dan 10:12 Then he said to me, "Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words.

Words of Blessings:

Deut 29:9 "So keep the words of this covenant to do them, that you may prosper in all that you do.

Micah 2:7 "…Do not My words do good To the one walking uprightly?

Job 4:4 "Your words have helped the tottering to stand…

Giving Heed to His Words:

Neh 8:13 … gathered to Ezra the scribe that they might gain insight into the words of the law.

Job 22:22 "Please receive instruction from His mouth, And establish His words in your heart.

Job 6:10 "But it is still my consolation… I have not denied the words of the Holy One.

Luke 9:44 "Let these words sink into your ears…"

Proper reaction to hearing God’s Word:

Prov 1:23 "Turn to my reproof, … I will make my words known to you.

Ps 119:161 … my heart stands in awe of Thy words.

Job 23:12 "… I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.

Matt 7:24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock…

Wrong Approach:

Matt 7:26 "And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does not act upon them, will be like a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand.

Ps 50:17 "For you hate discipline, And you cast My words behind you.

Mark 8:38 "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words … the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels."

Ps 55:21 His speech was smoother than butter, But his heart was war; His words were softer than oil, Yet they were drawn swords.

Cruel Words:

Job 19:2 "How long will you torment me, And crush me with words?

Wearisome Words:

Mal 2:17 You have wearied the LORD with your words…

Mal 3:13 "Your words have been arrogant against Me," says the LORD…

Matt 6:7 "And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition, as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words.

Caution about Words:

Prov 10:19 When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable…

Eccl 10:14 Yet the fool multiplies words…

Prov 29:20 … a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

Isa 29:13 Then the Lord said, "Because this people draw near with their words And honor Me with their lip service, But they remove their hearts far from Me, And their reverence for Me consists of tradition learned by rote,

Eph 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

1Tim 6:4 … he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions,

Rev 22:18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God shall add to him the plagues which are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.

YHVH speaks:

Not by false prophets:

Jer 23:16 Thus says the LORD of hosts, "Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are prophesying to you. They are leading you into futility; They speak a vision of their own imagination, Not from the mouth of the LORD.

But by His prophets:

Ezek 2:7 "But you shall speak My words to them whether they listen or not, for they are rebellious.

Isa 51:16 "And I have put My words in your mouth…'"

Jer 5:14 Therefore, thus says the LORD… Behold, I am making My words in your mouth fire …

1Cor 2:13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.

YHVH’s Words Written:

Dan 12:4 "But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time…

Jer 30:2 "Thus says the LORD, … 'Write all the words which I have spoken to you in a book.

Rev 22:10 … "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near.

The Sure Word of God:

Matt 24:35 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words shall not pass away.

John 6:68 Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life.

John 6:63 " … the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

1Thess 4:18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Word Test:

John 3:34 "For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God…

John 8:47 "He who is of God hears the words of God…"

John 14:24 "He who does not love Me does not keep My words…

John 15:7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.

John 5:46 "For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote of Me. 47 "But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?"

Prayer Words:

Ps 5:1 Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my groaning.

Ps 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.

Good advice about Words:

2Tim 2:14 Remind them of these things, and solemnly charge them in the presence of God not to wrangle about words, which is useless, and leads to the ruin of the hearers.

2Pet 3:2 that you should remember the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken by your apostles.

Rev 22:7 "And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book."

Moses’ plea:

Deut 11:18 "You shall therefore impress these words of mine on your heart and on your soul; …

Words, words and more words; give heed to the Words of The Almighty.

Thy Kingdom come… Amen

Proverbs

Proverbs 12:14 A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his words…

Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

Proverbs 22:17 Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise…

Proverbs 17:27 He who restrains his words has knowledge…

We are admonished to guard the words we speak as well as to listen to the words of the wise. Our wisdom is a gift from our Creator - use it to bring healing to all.

Holy One of Israel give us the good sense to speak Your words, words of life.

Saying (s)

"Do not measure yourself by what you have accomplished but by what you have accomplished with your ability."

To rightly determine our abilities we need to rightly evaluate our abilities. Some may need a little humility in this area and others may need encouragement. We have the words and parables of Yeshua (Jesus) as a guideline to help in this evaluation.

More Abilities equal more Responsibilities equal more Help:

Matt 25:14 "For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own slaves, and entrusted his possessions to them. 15 "And to one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey.

Determining of one’s gifts and abilities:

Matt 7:7 "Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.

Because:

Matt 5:14 "You are the light of the world…

Matt 7:12 "Therefore, however you want people to treat you, so treat them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

We have these promises:

Matt 5:5 "Blessed are the gentle…

Matt 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers…

Our words are an expression (of our heart) of our abilities; turn them into a benefit toward others.

Humility

In our pursuit of humility:

(Lessons from humility and holiness.)

"The chief mark of counterfeit holiness is its lack of humility. Every seeker after holiness needs to be on his guard lest unconsciously what was begun in the spirit is perfected in the flesh, and pride creep in where its presence is least expected. " Andrew Murray

Our words reveal what is truly in our heart:

Matt 12:34 "You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart.

Matt 6:21 for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Humility is the absence of pride:

Matt 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart…

Therefore:

Matt 22:37 … "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'

Yeshua Invites us to:

Matt 11:29 "Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart

True holiness comes from the Almighty therefore humble yourself under His hand.

Prayer

Understanding the precepts of prayer.

Samuel, the promised child, brought before Eli the Priest at Shiloh:

1Sam 1:25 … and brought the boy to Eli. 26 And she said, "Oh, my lord! As your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman who stood here beside you, praying to the LORD. 27 "For this boy I prayed, and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of Him. 28 "So I have also dedicated him to the LORD; as long as he lives he is dedicated to the LORD." …

Hannah’s Beautiful Insightful Prayer:

1Sam 2:1 Then Hannah prayed and said, "My heart exalts in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD, My mouth speaks boldly against my enemies, Because I rejoice in Thy salvation. 2 "There is no one holy like the LORD, Indeed, there is no one besides Thee, Nor is there any rock like our God. 3 "Boast no more so very proudly, Do not let arrogance come out of your mouth; For the LORD is a God of knowledge, And with Him actions are weighed.

What an opening address to YHVH; what heart felt words - Hannah goes on for 7 more verses lifting up the Creator. Notice her speaking boldly and the caution not to boast because our words and actions will be weighed (judged).

Matt 12:36 "And I say to you, that every careless word that men shall speak, they shall render account for it in the day of judgment. 37 "For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned."

Holy One of Israel put a guard on my lips that I might speak only true, pure and upright words.

Heart of God

How does God feel about issues we face today?

Wisdom in Correction

Proverbs 15:32 He who refuses instruction despises his own soul. But he who hears reproof gets wisdom.

We should welcome criticism for if we can take the words, evaluate them and make improvements from them - that is a huge strength. How will we grow if we do not see our flaws? To have them pointed out to us is a blessing. To be corrected so that we continue on the straight and narrow path is desirable. Seeking wisdom means that we are seeking correction for that is what wisdom will do in our life. Bring rightfulness into our walk - righteousness.  Let’s not be so proud to think that we have nothing to fix, that we are better than others so we do not have to change or improve until they do.  Not wanting to hear criticism is the first step towards losing connection with God.

Proverbs 3:11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:

Proverbs 3:12 For whom the LORD loves he corrects; even as a father the son in whom he delights.

Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.

Material in this section will be based on various prayer diaries.

Did you know:

Who was Hayim Solomon?

On the back side of the One Dollar bill, you will see two circles.  Together, they comprise the Great Seal of the United States. (You might want to look at one before it becomes extinct.)

The First Continental Congress requested that Benjamin Franklin and a group of men come up with a Seal.  It took them four years to accomplish this task and another two years to get it approved.

If you look at the left-hand circle, you will see a Pyramid.

Notice the face is lighted, and the western side is dark. This country was just beginning.  We had not begun to explore the west or decided what we could do for Western Civilization.  The Pyramid is uncapped, again signifying that we were not even close to being finished.  Inside the capstone you have the all-seeing eye, an ancient symbol for divinity.  It was Franklin's belief that one man couldn't do it alone, but a group of men, with the help of God, could do anything.

'IN GOD WE TRUST' is on this currency.

The Latin above the pyramid, ANNUIT COEPTIS, means, 'God has favored our undertaking.' The Latin below the pyramid, NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM, means, 'a new order has begun.'
At the base of the pyramid is the Roman Numeral for 1776. (MDCCLXXVI)

If you look at the right-hand circle, and check it carefully, you will learn that it is on every National Cemetery in the United States It is also on the Parade of Flags Walkway at the Bushnell, Florida National Cemetery, and is the centerpiece of most heroes’ monuments. Slightly modified, it is the seal of the President of the United States, and it is always visible whenever he speaks, yet very few people know what the symbols mean.

The Bald Eagle was selected as a symbol for victory for two reasons: First, he is not afraid of a storm; he is strong, and he is smart enough to soar above it.  Secondly, he wears no material crown. We had just broken from the King of England Also, notice the shield is unsupported. This country can now stand on its own. At the top of that shield you have a white bar signifying congress, a unifying factor. We were coming together as one nation. In the Eagle's beak you will read, ' E PLURIBUS UNUM' meaning, 'one from many.'

Above the Eagle, you have thirteen stars, representing the thirteen original colonies, and any clouds of misunderstanding rolling away. Again, we were coming together as one.

Notice what the Eagle holds in his talons. He holds an olive branch and arrows. This country wants peace, but we will never be afraid to fight to preserve peace. The Eagle always wants to face the olive branch, but in time of war, his gaze turns toward the arrows.

They say that the number 13 is an unlucky number. This is almost a worldwide belief. You will usually never see a room numbered 13, or any hotels or motels with a 13th floor.

But think about this:
13 original colonies,
13 signers of the Declaration of Independence,
13 stripes on our flag,
13 steps on the Pyramid,
13 letters in, 'Annuit Coeptis,'
13 letters in 'E PluribusUnum,'
13 stars above the Eagle,
13 bars on that shield,
13 leaves on the olive branch,
13 fruits, and if you look closely,
13 arrows.

And finally, if you notice the arrangement of the 13 stars in the right-hand circle you will see that they are arranged as a Star of David.  This was ordered by George Washington who, when he asked Hayim Solomon, a wealthy Philadelphia Jew, what he would like as a personal reward for his services to the Continental Army, Solomon said he wanted nothing for himself but that he would like something for his people. The Star of David was the result. Few people know that it was Solomon who helped save the Army through his financial contributions but died a pauper.

Lighter Side

Enjoy Growing Older

Being pushed around?
Hospital regulations require a wheel chair for patients being discharged. However, while working as a student nurse, I found one elderly gentleman already dressed and sitting on the bed with a suitcase at his feet, who insisted he didn't need my help to leave the hospital.
After a chat about rules being rules, he reluctantly let me wheel him to the elevator.

On the way down I asked him if his wife was meeting him.

'I don't know,' he said. 'She's still upstairs in the bathroom changing out of her hospital gown.'

What are Friends for?

Two elderly gentlemen from a retirement center were sitting on a bench under a tree when one turns to the other and says: 'Slim, I'm 83 years old now and I'm just full of aches and pains. I know you're about my age. How do you feel?'

Slim says, 'I feel just like a newborn baby.'

'Really!?  Like a newborn baby!?'

'Yep.  No hair, no teeth, and I think I just wet my pants.'

 You Know what I mean:
An elderly couple had dinner at another couple's house, and after eating, the wives left the table and went into the kitchen.
The two gentlemen were talking, and one said, 'Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it was really great... I would recommend it very highly.'

The other man said, 'What is the name of the restaurant?'

The first man thought and thought and finally said, 'What is the name of that flower you give to someone you love?
You know..... The one that's red and has thorns.'

'Do you mean a rose?'

'Yes, that's the one,' replied the man. He then turned towards the kitchen and yelled,
'Rose, what's the name of that restaurant we went to last night?'

Pass the bread:
A couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things. During a checkup, the doctor tells them that they're physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember...

Later  that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair. 'Want anything while I'm in the kitchen?' he asks.

'Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?'

'Sure…'

'Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember it?' she asks.

'No, I can remember it.'

'Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too. Maybe you should write it down, so as not to forget it?'

He says, 'I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries.'

'I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that, write it down?' she asks.

Irritated, he says, 'I don't need to write it down, I can remember it! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream - I got it, for goodness sake!'
Then he toddles into the kitchen.

After about 20 minutes, The old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs… She stares at the plate for a moment.

'Where's my toast?'

The Modern Church

95 Theses to the Modern Evangelical Church

by Greg Gordon - (founder of SermonIndex.net)

14. We take lightly the cost of discipleship laid out by Jesus Christ and do not deny our lives. (Lk 14:33; Lk 14:26-27; Mt 8:19-20)

15. There is a lack of true discipleship and making others to be obedient disciples. (Mt 28:20; 2Tim 2:2; 2Tim 2:14)

16. Many subscribe to the error that parts of life are to be spiritual while others are to be secular. (1Pt 4:2; Col 3:3; 1Jn 2:6)

Cause and Effect

Scribbles

(By Michael Boldea Jr.)

"The placebo effect of empty promises, false expectations, and lofty rhetoric are temporary and fleeting. The truth however, difficult as it might be for some to receive, helps to prepare us and compels us to search our hearts and know that we are walking in the light of God’s Word and will."

Consider

If you trust, you don’t worry; if you worry, you don’t trust.

A really good conversationalist always leaves a little "butting in" time.

People may forget how fast you did a job, but they remember how well you did it.

You cannot discover new oceans unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.

Opportunity will knock three times, but it will sneak right in if you leave the door open.

The one who has achieved success is the one who has worked well, laughed often

and loved much.

It isn’t our position but our disposition that makes us happy.

Psalm Promise

Psalm 146:9
Feeling Alone?
Here is A Promise

Psalm 146:9 The LORD protects the strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow…

Praise YHVH for He cares for all. One may have been as a stranger in a foreign land and felt isolated, alone, and rejected. Yet that can happen right in our own community.

May we have the love of YHVH for all that are strangers, fatherless or widowed; to meet their need and help in some comforting way.

Luke 1:52 "He has brought down rulers from their thrones, And has exalted those who were humble. 53 "He has filled the hungry with good things…

Blessed be YHVH (Genesis 14:20 And blessed be God Most High…)
